I have noticed that compared to other makes and models that I have driving with lane assist, the raptor seems to be very weak in lane correction. I did have my setting on high intensity, more out of curiosity I turned the alert setting on today. There were no alerts happening when it would self correct. I then changed to intestity setting to low and noticed no difference from high intensity.

I’m not overly worried about it, but just wondering what everyone else is experiencing.

Side note: When I activate ACC, it grabs the wheel and does an amazing job keeping me center, I would have assumed lane centering on high intensity would do the same.

I disagree, i think its on par within an acceptable range having used, jeep, and volvo. I notice ya gotta fight against it pretty good when you want to change lanes.
Not at all - like i said it is very weak. I understand what you mean about having to “fight it” to change lanes. My last truck I needed to fight it along with my wifes car, not the Raptor. I guess I’ll have to have them look at at when I bring it in for TSB work.

Maybe your steering pump module is not putting out enough wattage or whatever … although i would suspect that would alter all of your steering inputs.

I’m going to butcher the Ford terms, but isn’t lane assist basically like a last resort feature (primary goal is not to steer but just bump you back into lane if you hit the lines). The lane centering is available under cruise control and is more so the steering assist.

This is correct and can be referenced in the Owner’s Manual. Lane Centering is only available when using adaptive cruise control with stop and go. Normal lane keeping assist does not function the same way, it only bumps you back toward the center of the lane.

I turned the lane assist off the first time I ever got in my truck and haven’t turned it on since. I’m just glad that it actually defaults to the last setting (off).

You sure that it’s turned on? After you set it in the settings you actually have to engage the lane keeping feature on the left side of the steering wheel. This is a bit different then the Gen 2.

I agree with JeepGuy. The truck will jerk the wheel (when setting is on high) if you’re getting out of line and haven’t signaled. Even more so than our Volvo XC90, and I thought it was pretty strong.
