Enjoy the trip. I was scheduled to be there at the end of the month but trip was cancelled because they stopped launching houseboats. Water’s too low.

How would I keep the rats away without a cat?
I would set some traps around the truck and my wife was telling me about some electronic rat /mouse deterrent that you plug in I guess! I would set that on the running board or better yet under the hood. It’s dead quiet up there at night when no wind. I was falling asleep and I heard the little MFERS scratching and running around under the hood! Popped the hood, I saw one run away, I think he flipped me off as he did! I shined the light in there and saw where they were working on the battery cables and several other wires. If I hadn’t had experience with them at the house I might not have known what they were doing.
I found this for you. I wish I had known about it then. I didn’t get any sleep:(

There's an amazing dirt road that goes from Escalante (Hole in the Rock rd) to Lake Powell...but I worry the Raptor would be too wide as it literally goes through a stream bed. At the least, take cottonwood canyon road from route 12 to HW89! Then N of Lake Powell, Alstrom Pt is a fun drive/beautiful overlook of the lake.
The part you have to worry about is very close to the end of the road at Hole-in-the-Rock. You can walk the last bit ...
