Way to think outside of the box and get a lot of additional strength in the truck.

I don't know if I'd go that far. He had to cut and then weld on the frame. Increasing and decreasing the temperature of the surrounding metal to weld on the tubular piece. We don't know how that may have affected the strength of that part of the frame - especially considering it's in an area that is a known crumple zone.

Definitely nice to see some out of the box thinking, but I'm curious as to the longevity and how it performs. Hopefully OP can get us some video soon.

I believe he said he was going to "plate" each side of he chassis where he added the bump-stop. Similar to what a bolt on bump-stop kit accomplishes.

One would think plating / supporting / strengthening the chassis this way would eliminate any weakness in this area...

There are quite a few welds to the frame from the factory. His modification isn't weakening anything.

A crumple zone is a designed weak area. Yep, it may have messed up the crumple zone, but we are talking about strength, and it will strengthen that area.

Not yet I was In a rush when I installed them at my Dad's shop in Louisiana and didn't have time to do more things I needed to do because I had to get back to Texas for class on Moday. I am planning to take the bed off soon and add a strike plate and beef up the shock mounts but my free time gets taken up with my kids. I plan on doing a few things soon like a tire rack and bumpers.

Thanks, I think they do because the landings from big jumps are smooth. also it took so long to install because I had to straiten the frame before we could do any cutting. What do you think about the videos. do you think they work to get the point accross.

Can't wait to see this in person! I get back in May so hopefully we can get a run together! Keep up the great work, I love when people on here come up with new ways of pushing these trucks!
