Never seen this on here before. Curious as to what someone more knowledgeable than me on the structural aspect thinks.

Interesting... I know in a fulcrum, the closer you get to the pivot point (in this case, the center of the rear diff) the more force that will be applied when the wheel travel is maxed out... like using leverage to operate a car jack, the piston itself is only a few inches from the fulcrum, making it VERY easy at the end of the handle.

That being said, the forces exhibited in that location, vs. traditional bump kit being "outside" the rear springs, closer to the source of energy (being the wheel travel), will have a much more drastic effect. Being a 4" bump may help, but you're definitely going to see A LOT more force there, than outside the spring.

One more thing to consider, is most bump kits have a torsional rod built into them, to actually allow the frame to flex side-to-side under offset impacts... the frames are designed to twist, not take the full impact from the bottom.

Let us know how it works out, definitely a first!

I agree about the amount of force, but i put it there because with the traditional outside placement requires something to counter the rotational force on the frame. I wanted the force to be directly into the frame without the twist. I also bought the 4 inch travel bumps because i took in to account the axle travel at the wheel.

Seems like a lot of unnecessary work for bump stops? Wonder how much you have weakened the frame by cutting such big holes like that in it.

If you look at these pics you will notice that the bump stops are inboard.

the holes are filled with a solid dom tube from top to bottom with a plate over the hole in the inside.

They are out the box and will make changes as i beat on it. I am in Texas for another three weeks and hoping to test it here when i get some time but i definitely will beat it up when i get back to California.
