Ok, I'm going to to ask a dumb question..do most of you guys take the factory spare out from under or is this mainly to carry the second spare.

I can't speak for most but I always carry two spares on runs. One in the bed and one underneath. I prefer that I can close and lock a cover vs. one that needs an open bed to store two spares vertical even though I think it looks a hell of a lot better.

I like to run the spare in the bed under the cover. Keeps it nice and clean and easy to get to rather than digging it out from under the truck in the mud or snow. This does allow you to run 2 spares when running 35's. When running 37's you have to run the spare in the bed since the spare wont fit in the stock location anymore unless you mod the frame.

I will need something like this. How does it mount?

I am looking to have a set up like this that will hold a 37" tire with some type of quick release mounting (pull 4 pins to take out/put in) or something like that.

I want to be able to mount my spare and jack but remove it easy when I need more room in my bed.
