So, I just did a Forscan mod yesterday that may help this issue. It's called '' Secure Idle Enable''. '' If engine is running but fob is away from vehicle, vehicle cannot be put into any gear. ''

If they are mimicking the FOB, then won't the vehicle "think" it's good to go?

this will not help you , the method thieves use now is they bring a physical fob (un programmed) and place it in the cup holder this acts as a new programmed fob as the fuse has been pulled out.

my truck was literally stolen in 2 minutes it’s on video. They get access to the cabin by intercepting the fob signal. Once in the cabin they remove the kick panel and remove the appropriate fuse and then place the fob in the cup holder , the car recognizes the fob as a un programmed new fob and they leave with the vehicle . No mess , no noise and no time. The vehicle is then left in a cold Down place in the event of tracking device being in the car. After a week or say they come back and it either goes to a chop shop or a container and shipped over seas.

4possible défenses to this
-You could get a REVELCO 350$ plus install but you will need to carry there key to start your car

-a kill switch

-a tracking system

-physical deterent such as a gas pedal lock or club.

Ford pass is useless and so is the ford alarm , I was sent a message that I was disconnected from ford pass and I got there within 5 mins car was long gone.

I learned the lesson the hard way , my advice get a tracking device installed like RFID and a kill switch. They will pick another Raptor rather then waste time with your Raptor.

Of course nothing is full proof they could always tow your car on a flat bed within 5 mins but I’ll put the chances on my side for a minimal investment you can at least make it much harder for them.

The truck will start with an --unprogrammed, uninitialized fob--? who is the brain donor who thought that was a good idea? I expect ignorance of vulnerabilities like this from cheap network routers, cameras, video cams, etc.

day. um.

I won’t explain in detail
How it’s done For fear of some scum bag using my post but I can say it is Most definitely a oversight on Ford’s part. Install a kill switch for the fuel pump (kick plate 40 pin connector , yellow wire ) will take 15 mins and cost 40$ max and you will definitely have a little more piece of mind, and get a tracking device there’s many without any monthly service charges. 80k truck and I thought I was good by being vigilant and having ford pass and alarm. That’s a mistake

That’s actually a great idea.. or put a lock on the fuse box itself behind the kick plate. Also the oversight with the fob is explained by the fact that the car thinks you opened the door with the fob

No, it’s not.

so they hacked in by boosting the --initialized-- fob signal. SO, the truck should start with the emergency fob reader from any --initialized-- fob, not a new, uninitialized fob. That is a galactically stupid oversight.
