Key/tire/seat warranty? Worth it or not?

Hey everyone,

I get my new raptor on Friday. Dealer is asking for 2450$ ( got them down to 2000$ ) for 3 years of key replacements, tire/rim replacements if I get a nail etc or the rim is scuffed, seat protection for rips/tears/damage, and paint less dent repair.

Is this option worth it? What’s to stop people from just stabbing their driver seat near end of warranty to get a newer looking seat? They said they’d cover an inch worth of damage. The tires would be replacement for any tires that get a nail. Maximum coverage was 5-10k or something like that.

The raptor is a 2019.

Thats a lot of money for getting nothing in return. In 10 years of owning my raptor, I have one minor seat cut, that's it, tire punctures by nails are 35 bucks max to get repaired and no hassle having to go to a dealer either. Tell them to stuff it up their asscheeks!

In US prices the smart money would be get a 3rd key made when you take delivery of the truck, should be under $200
Get warranty certificates for tires when you replace them, if you pay full price this is $250 for 5 tires
Oem seat covers can be had for around $500 per and are easy to install.

Paintless dent repair could be sweet if you live in a hail zone, however in the US hail damage is covered by your insurance at no deductible if your under full coverage.

The money just doesn't add up.

I was thinking maybe seat replacements in regards to the family dog or going over a nail when the tire tread is close to gonezo? LOL

Ended up cancelling, apparently they take into consideration tire tread and only 150$ per seat puncture. Terrible.

back to thinking, they said they’ll replace any of the tires no matter what the tread is up to 5k and 5k for rims. Including aftermarket. .

seat protection is garbage however, 150 per visit max 600... I don’t think I’d lose any keys, but the tire/rim protection is interesting.

Meh, 2k goes a long way on a set of tires. Buy through Discount or Goodyear and get the tire certs and you've got zero deductible repairs/replacements.

Just a calculated risk. If its easier to finance the 2k and pay the extra $33/month than come up with the cash for a tire if one pops then its probably a good deal. The rims on these don't get damaged easily, there is a lot of sidewall and almost all off road tires have rim lip guards.

You can smoke a set of tires on a fast off road weekend, start thinking of them as disposable
