I'm running the Kennwood DNX690HD, it was already on the truck when i bought it. I love the options, like individual TPMS, gauge read outs for the chassis, install is awesome and looks like it was factory, however, the nav updates are a POS so currently my nav is inop, and the bluetooth phone connection doesn't function well. Not sure it those are due to poor install or head unit issues. Overall a good set up though

I have the DNX890HD and while it is a great unit and I like it, I would not pay the premium for a NAV receiver if I had to do it over. I have my Note 4 on a Mob Armor mount and run Waze all the time so no need for the navi built into the Kenwood. I would get one without navi but with the iDatalink port, pandora and all of that. I think they start around $300 for a Kenwood.

Did your truck start out as a truck with navigation?

No it was a non-navi with Sony truck.

OK, this is good. You are someone i was looking for. I hope you dont mind answering some more questions.
1. Did your truck come with the CD changer and does it still work if so?
2. Did your truck come with satellite radio and if so does it still work?
3. When you bought the face plate for the new nav screen did all the buttons wire up to the new face plate
4. did you use maestro to make the conversion work?
5. Do you have any pictures?

Thank you and sorry for all the questions lol

Sure, answers below. There's also A LOT of info in an old thread on the F150 forum.

New Maestro and DNX890HD - Ford F150 Forum - Community of Ford Truck Fans

1. No changer so can't answer

2. Yes but you cannot (that I know of) use the stock SAT receiver. You need a new tuner to interface to the Kenwood deck. I used a SiriusXM SXV200V1 but I think that is superseded by something new. Check Amazon or Crutchfield.

3. Did not consider using a factory face plate. The Kenwood screen is 7" whereas I believe the factor Nav is 8". I bought the Scosche 2009-up Dash Kit from Amazon and then had it wrapped in white carbon fiber satin 3M vinyl (truck is white) and then painted the factory grey trim pieces with SEM Satin Black interior paint. Greatest interior paint on the planet!

4. Yes, I used the idatalink Maestro ADS-RR with the Maestro harness for Ford. Works perfectly.

5. No pictures of the install but here are pics after. It's hard to get good pics of the vinyl but I get complements on it all the time. I sent the pieces out to a guy in WA state. Mark Wu at Wu!Wraps. Found him on the Bimmer forums.

you will lose the oem cd changer when you replace the radio. other than that, everytbing should work just fine. you will need a sat radio module sxv300 to retain sat radio, but the antenna will fit if you take the plastic off of it. you will need to find a way to secure the antenna though because the plastic is also the retaining clip.

Hallelujah, its Noah to save the day! Thank you, once my nav bezel gets here i will continue on with this project. Would you advise me to buy the maestro to tie into sync, or is it not necessary?
