Just added the filter today... I can't stop grinnin'. A lil more pep to the truck and sounds pretty gnarly!
For those of y'all worried about water, debris, mud, etc., I figured out you can move the bottom of the flap that sits in the same corner as the filter upwards and attach it to the fender well. It doesn't effect anything under the hood, it doesn't cost anything, and incredibly easy.
-Just pull the push tab off of the frame underneath
-Make a hole in the spot of your choosing in the fender well. I just sat up top and moved it to where I couldn't easily see the road underneath
-Move tab and flap up and plug into your hole...open to any comments
The electrical tape in the pics was to get rid of glare for the pictures
The major stuff is avoided. The gap left in it is still large enough to where it doesn't restrict any airflow, even though the angle doesn't look like it. It forces things to bounce back and forth, which is unlikely, just to reach your new filter. Probably still wouldn't hurt to raid your wife's ***** drawer for the ***** hose. More fun that way anyways
