Just picked up a Whipple charged Raptor. Aux fan always on engine running too cool?

The thermostat controls the temp to a certain point.
These engines run hot so you will see that the temp will go up to 210-214
when sitting in traffic regardless of what thermostat your running in the hot summer months.

Having the radiator fans adjusted to run sooner and at what percentage is what will control the engine temps more than any other mod.
This is done through the Tune.
If you have the Whipple Tune and it's been written in 2014 your OEM radiator fans should be turning on at around 175 to 185.
Every vehicle is different.

I also have to mention I didn't go back to the 160 last summer I left the 170 in, I may even leave it this year too.
It takes about an hour to an hour and a half to swap it out.
You have to take the whole intake tube out to the throttle body. To do the job with minimal hassle
Drain a gallon to gallon and a half out. Easiest way is to use a 3/8" to siphon it out into a clean container.

This is the thermostat I'm using:

I just realized your in Rhode Island, well Tasca Ford in Cranton is where I upgraded to the stage II and had the Tune built.

You may be in luck if you purchased your truck there!!!

Did you get the Tuner device?
Since it's a 2014 it will be the SCT X4 from: https://www.sctflash.com/products/s...MakeId=5&vehicleModelId=69&vehicleEngineId=27
If not, try to get it from the last owner through the dealer.
The sale of your truck is incomplete without the Tuner Device!!!
I hate dealers that do that!!!!

This will save you from the big hassle trying to return the truck back to the stock Tune,
(Whipple or OEM Stock Tune or a custom Tune from a speed shop).

Like someone mentioned earlier, call Whipple and give them your Vin#
Complete kits and Tunes are sold with the Vin#
According to the Whipple website you send your PCM to Whipple and they tune it and they send it back. It doesn't include a tuner.

Funny thing Tasca is where I bought the truck lol! Tasca called me today and said they found the box with all the stock parts for the truck. I went through everything tonight and it had the stock intake manifold, air filter, thermostat, injectors, spark plugs and it even included a K&N CAI for a 6.2 and some other misc parts.

Thank you for the great info. I'm assuming it's the Whipple tune. I think I may switch over to the 170 as well and try it out. Again thank you.

If the truck has a Whipple tune on it as part of the upgrades you should be able to contact them and provide them a VIN number and they likely will be able to tell you what kit/tune was installed...and also what you should expect about its function.

Ha, yea, but no. Whipple has no record of my blower. At all. Way to keep records

It doesn’t need to be returned to stock. To tune.
Mine had the CRAP whipple tune and no tuner. Livernois pulled and cracked the locked tune. Crtl+alt+delete
New massive improved Livernois Tuning

For the love of God Dont email tune it.
I don’t care what anyone says.
It’s a best guess.
That guessing works on factory forced induction vehicles..... NOT a vehicle that was never factory blown.
Any reputable tuner will tell you the same, need the vehicle in person on the dyno. WAY too many variables.

Please don’t guess tune
