The thermostat controls the temp to a certain point.
These engines run hot so you will see that the temp will go up to 210-214
when sitting in traffic regardless of what thermostat your running in the hot summer months.
Having the radiator fans adjusted to run sooner and at what percentage is what will control the engine temps more than any other mod.
This is done through the Tune.
If you have the Whipple Tune and it's been written in 2014 your OEM radiator fans should be turning on at around 175 to 185.
Every vehicle is different.
I also have to mention I didn't go back to the 160 last summer I left the 170 in, I may even leave it this year too.
It takes about an hour to an hour and a half to swap it out.
You have to take the whole intake tube out to the throttle body. To do the job with minimal hassle
Drain a gallon to gallon and a half out. Easiest way is to use a 3/8" to siphon it out into a clean container.
