Update

So it’s Phoenix audio is carrying the same thing as linkswell. The guy who bought his was correct.

More news...

A 3 button cutout bezel is due in July by Phoenix as well.

With Phoenix you can get a 2/64 version which tends to be snappier and not lag up when switching between applications.

The new unit does everything you’d want. It supports bird’s eye camera and everything works except voice commands. Sirius radio can be installed as an app and run streaming via a hotspot of your choice.

Further, you’ll be able to run odb2 software for unlimited gauge selection via the tablet.

There isn’t a lot of downsides I’m seeing so far.

I’ll let you know when I can buy one.

Once it supports CarPlay, sign me up. And yes, I know you can do everything and more with the interface on its own, but I want my content and CarPlay stuff on there too (as an option).

CarPlay is coming.

Stay tuned.

The one thing that is a loss.... is the remote start.... and start by app. That’s gonna take an aftermarket setup...

The ford pass app is pretty slick.

In many respects this helps to modernize the interior of the Raptor.

It’ll be the same but not really.

3 button cutout bezel.

Android 7.1. The guts gets a minor update.

Option to change launchers from Phoenix.

Initially there will only be 32/2 gig model with the updated setup.

To do this thing right you need a hotspot and you have to go aftermarket for remote start and remote start via app.

So figure 800ish with shipping for the unit. A few bills for the remote start with app.
Your choice of hotspot. I like the odb2 hotspot option but it’s a little more pricey.

Imagine the setup.... an Android 12 inch tab. Streaming hotspot that powers on with your truck that can provide live WAZE, google maps, google search, live streaming audio from any of your favorite apps.... live streaming video if you want to catch the news while you’re waiting....

Sirius streaming is higher bitrate than their satellite nonsense too.

There isn’t a ton of downside to this setup.
It’s just unfortunate that it loses the voice commands.

I hear the google assistant doesn’t work with it either.

It’s going to look exactly the same.

To clarify, it is remote start from the app, not from the key fob, correct?

I don’t know if the remote start via the keyfob is tied into the sync3 as well.

It’s totally alleviated with an aftermarket solution.

So Linkswell just posted this video on Youtube

https://youtu.be/9YKAKZsaLG4

Looks like Carplay is supported

Waiting for an actual video of the unit

Edit: yes it's for the Ram but I figure that as long as the software has been integrated in the Ram it is coming to the F-150

Wondering about the remote start as well... As long as the keyfob isn't integrated into Sync and still works, I may do this. Not concerned about losing the opportunity to start via the app.
