The plastic one is leaking. And after taking it to the dealer they wanted to replace it with another plastic one for $1700. With all the hate i saw on the plastic oil pans I decided to call Galpin Auto sports to replace it with a metal one. I guess theyve done it a lot and they want $1200.

Also, i have the dealer putting in SP594s tomorrow. Is this a no no? I ordered these plugs online but they wont be in in time for Galpin to do it:

Should I wait to do this plug i ordered?

I know man. When I found it was cheaper to just convert I said no way to the dealer. That $1700 before haggling with them but i really didnt want to do another plastic one either way.

What's the shop time to R&R that oilpan? Do you have to mess with the front diff to get it out?

Not entirely sure of the full process but it will be in there tomorrow morning til Thursday afternoon. So about a day to day and a half worth of work

8 hrs, and the diff doesn't get removed entirely. It is lowered about 2 inches for clearance.

Plastic pan replacement is about $550, so it can be done 3 times for the cost of changing to aluminum pan. My customers that request the aluminum pan are those that say they are keeping their truck long term.

You are good. I believe the ones you ordered are the updated version of the ones I put in.
