JLT Oil Separator Quest -- No Oil Residue

I installed a JLT Oil Separator on my 2020 at ~200 miles. Due to Covid-19, it now has slightly over 400 miles on the odo, which is also to say that I'm still breaking it in and "babying" the engine. I just checked the catch can and found that it had absolutely no oil residue in it. Non. Zippo.

I wasn't expecting a lot since I've only driven the truck 200 miles since install, but thought the inside would at least be coated with an oily mist. Should I expect to see anything at this stage?

The WDC region is still a "hot" spot and is just now beginning to open, albeit only slightly. I haven't needed to drive anywhere far, although I try to find a reason to go out whenever I can. Still, I was expecting something.

You will not see any oil after 200 miles, especially since you are babying it during break-in. You need to get around 1000 miles with lots of WOT pulls to get some oil in there. I check mine every time I do an oil change at 3,000 miles and oils in there, but not close to needing emptying (Maybe two tablespoons worth).

I had about 1,200 miles after installing mine and after i tuned it, was about a tsbp of oil in there. Need to drive it more and wait, will see some in there eventually.

If you had any oil in there after 200 miles of not driving hard i would be concerned.

Question for the guys who have it installed, how did you get the engine cover to fit back on? Mine is blocked by the line. I can shave the cover down so it will fit, just curious how any of you did this.

The cover is foam so I just took an exacto knife to it and cut accordingly.

FWIW, I routed the JLT lines (to the extent that I could) so they went under existent plumbing and connected that way. While the passenger side is slightly higher, it's hardly noticeable and I didn't have to do any trimming.

Yea, I didn’t have to do any trimming either.
