Been searching a lot of threads to help me choose what kind of audio upgrade to do in my 2012 SCrew.

I have whittled the subwoofer selection down to two options:

1) JL Stealthbox with the JL Audio 13 TW5 Sub.
or
2) 2 - 10" Morel Primo subs in a box from Super Crew sound.

The cost for the Stealthbox is $900, while the cost for the Morel setup with box is around $660. Not talking about amplification yet, but I would power each setup with an appropriate high level amp.

Anyone have any experience or input as to how these two might compare.

BTW, the fronts will either be JL C5's or Focal KRX2.

I think the JL Audio stealthbox would look the best. Im thinking doing that or possibly the JL microbox with 2 8w3's. It would be easy to remove these whenever you needed the extra floor space under the seats.

As for the fronts, I have the JL C3's. They are nice but I wish I had gone with the focals or similar ARC audio components after hearing them. C5's are nice though.

I also have the JBL MS-8 which I think is very important to have a good sound processor if you have the premium sony system. I tried audiocontrols LCQ-1 but it didnt sound good. They make a DQL-8? that looks awesome but you would have to be an expert tuner to get it to sound right in my opinion.

Wow -

That's the first negative I have heard about the AudioControl LCQ-1.

I am currently waiting on a bid from my audio installer to do Focal
K2 Power 165 KRX2's in the front, base Focal's in the rear, an Alpine PDX Amp to run these door speakers, then 2 10" subs in a custom box, probably Morel Primo, Maybe Alpine Type R Shallow mounts with their own amp. We have been talking about the AudioControl LCQ-1 to handle the signal processing, but now you are making me reconsider the LCQ-1.

Anyone else have any experience with the LCQ-1?

Have you looked at this MTX box yet ? its pretty tucked away and includes the built in amp . Its only $ 362 if you enter it in the ''make an offer box"

367 is all the lower i could get it. I just tried 362 and it wouldn't take it said it was to low.

Also, I have a brand new 13TW5 JL sub i was going to try and fit in my truck but decided not to... so if someone is interested in it let me know.

I just ordered the JL c5's (570's doors, tweets for A-pillars) and would love to use the JL Stealthbox but I have the Scab and the current Stealthbox is not a clean fit with the Scab, on your Screw it will fit and sound great-when fed with POWER. I will be using a single 10" Morel Primo in an MTX Thunderform (new one is fiberglass-not plastic) until JL comes out with a proper fitting box for the Scab...Either way it will sound great and a HUUGE improvement over stock, good luck!

I just put in focal fronts and JL c5 in the rear with 2 JL audio 13.5 flat pistion in a custom box that fits under the rear seat. I used a JL audio 900 hd amp with a digital cross over. Sounds wicked. Box is great and you can't see it under the seat. The 900 HD is under rated for power, it actually makes 1200. Every thing is mounted to the back of the cab behind the seat so nothing is on the floor. It's not drilled either

From my experiance mtx fails when you start pushing it hard.

Interesting on the box---does it go across the entire rear seat? The reason I ask is because to have 2 of the JL 13.5's ya gotta have plenty of air..

Yes it does. You need 2 feet of air space for the JL flat pistion

I had a JL 13.5 flat in my hummer but then I decided to go with a 13 sw7 an man that thing pounded. But I could not fit it in the raptor so I went with 2 flat 13.5 instead. It doesn't have the low of the 13 sw7 but they still hit hard and tight. The box is plenty big for the 2 JL 13.5 and it fits perfect under the seat

I would stay away from Memphis audio and mtx. Pioneer, ken wood and kicker are not bad but they don't have clear lows. The kicker is not bad but for the money your better off with JL audio, focal, or audiobahn. Yes they are more money but you get what you pay for when it comes to audio.
