iPod Touches are not badly priced these days, could probably find one used even. That would allow it to be dedicated to the gauges freeing up your phone to do media duties. Even has a camera built in to record the action. The ProClip setup would work perfectly for this.

Thats a great idea! The proclip is a good option to look into because of their universal mount. It will accept any phone sized device with or without a case.

quick question Mike, I'm trading my '10 5.4 for a '12 6.2 this week and want to put a few upgrades on it - I have looked at SCT's site, in the APP store, and on your website and maybe I'm missing it but where are the tunes (and my factory flash) stored? I'm concerned because I lose iphones like college girls lose their ******* after tequila! I honestly go thru 4-5 phones a year and this won't be the option for me if everything is stored in the phone. I would think/hope it is stored in the dongle and the phone is only an interface?

thanks

So do you remove the OBD interface plug after it's programmed, or does it need to remain to communicate with your iPhone or iPad? If so, wouldn't 5 or 6 people go in and buy one as a group and share the booty?

Also, is this an improvement over the X3? Are there advantages to using the X3 over this? (aside from the fact that you can store 10 tunes on the iPad and that you can have all the gauges).
