Not to burst anyone's bubble, as this does look pretty damn cool, but I know with any "hard line" tuner you can't remove the cable during "uploading/downloading" tunes, ask Birdman what happened with his truck when he did that.....sorry Bird, don't mean to bring up bad memories......but my question is, I've lost bluetooth connection with my phone before, what happens if you lose connection with this during a tune upload/download????

I ordered from Mike on Friday. Still a couple of weeks before custom tunes become available but I'll at least have the unit in hand. I plan to plug it into my suburban to pull the obdii data while I wait on my 2012. Will at least get a feel for the stability of the Bluetooth connection.

It's a great question on what happens if disconnected. I would expect that the tune should be downloaded to the dongle and no flash should occur without a checksum acknowledgement that the tune was delivered successfully.

Mike, it would be great to get sct to provide an FAQ on how the process works.

My guess is that the tunes are stored on the dongle and the iDevice just triggers which one to load. That is interesting that they chose Bluetooth. The Innovate setup I have in the 4Runner uses Wifi... Shouldn't really matter much though. Your iDevice won't be more than 10ft from the dongle.

Hey Mike,
Does the dongle only work with with the SCT software or does it work with other software too? I know SCT will prefer you to use their software and not all features will work but does it at least "share" the OBDII info like other dongles? That might allow Android devices to at least show the gauge info. Also, does the dongle work on multiple vehicles? I know your tunes will be locked to one VIN but can you use the dongle for OBDII elsewhere?

Thanks!

Tunes are avail as they are same tunes we install on X3. The app to accept those custom tunes on itsx will be avail in Jan. But once you receive itsx you can still use it to monitor and get used to it. itsx /app can be updated once app is finished in Jan.
