it always takes 3 times longer and 2x more money than predicted, and the machine shops are all catching up on race car stuff...

sorry to be a negative nancy, but a takeout, or crate engine would probably be a lot quicker and cheaper as well...

This is for a new engine and THEN to put the engine in is $2500, So I'm at $10,5 for the engine installed vs the shop doing everything for $6500 with all the fixings.

I will be throwing cash at new turbos as well. And if I get my way... I will be doing new suspension all the way around while shes down.

No they didn’t. There was never such a program and there were never any pattern engine failures. In my years at dealers every single 3.5 engine failure was one of 2 root causes:

A. Run low on oil
B. Poorly maintained/extended oil change intervals

Ford just paid 2/3rds of a good friends short block at 83K (3k out of the extended warranty), 2000 miles after cam phasers, so never say never...

he still had to pay $5k but it wasnt nearly $16K... for a short block....

I just had my engine replaced by Ford due to a botched cam phaser job where the timing chain guide bolt came loose and was gobbled up inside the motor. Dealership admitted mistake and covered everything, but for a new long block the bill came out to just shy of 19K...
