I used a JL Fix 86 instead of the Nav-TV...wish I would have used the Nav-TV
I also used a JL TWK88 for tuning the sound...you'll want one of these!!!
Other than that I used Focal top end front and rear
I used 2 JL audio 10" subs for the rear and the same JL HD amp.
I was able to install it all behind the rear seat saving the entire floor space and not having to cut up the floor mat.
Sounds great...hits hard with the dual subs...JL does an amazing job with their thin line subs.
I also did the sound mats in all the doors

Yes. That setup is nice. Local shop is recommending the jl stealth box. Really don’t want to give up the floor space.

Why do you wish you had used the NAV instead of the fix 86?

the fix 86 takes a high-level input and "rebuilds" the original non processed content. the stock amp removes low frequencies as volume gets turn up to prevent clipping at the speakers. saves ford from doing warranty work to $5 paper speakers all the time.

NAV TV, takes pure digital signal off the main can-bus (cars digital communication network). Pure digital, no processing. nothing added, nothing taken away. Everything after that point is solely based on what processor (if any), amp, and speaker you choose.

Nav TV route is just better.

3 months in, and all is well. System still works just like factory, and puts a smile on my face every time.

i have resorted to getting out all my old CD's. Satalit radio and MP3's (320 kb), just leave a lot to be desired. With a decent system, you can here all the compression on the highs and lows.

HD radio sounds great, but hard to pick a song you want to hear. my problem is, i have not bought a CD since 2007 :)

Ok, motivated to upgrade the B&O system. Thanks to this thread among others. Curious why the NAV 2a system is used over the JL Fix-82 OEM integration system. Especially with so many using JL amps and speakers.

I am no expert, but this is what I have learned researching upgrading my std. system.

The JL FIX-82 rebuilds/sums the signal to 2 channels, the JL FIX-86 to 4 channels + sub woofer. The Fix-86 keeps the factory fading. The output of both are low level and need to go through an amp.

you may still want to have DSP before the amp to add time delay, EQ and filtering.

Both are for use on Raptor systems without the B&O system.

I am about to have a decent system installed in my truck next weekend. I was curious about the same thing with the quality of the source. I was thinking about subscribing to the premium HD subscription from Tidal however not sure my iPhone could send that signal through the USB. Any ideas?

The JL FIX-82 rebuilds/sums the signal to 2 channels, .

this is no-bueno

artificial rebuilding of sound is just gross. IMHO makes it worse then the low bandwidth to begin with. if you have never heard music the way it should sound, you may not notice. But with me having 25+ years in car and home high end audio, I can tell a huge difference. And i am not an "audiphile" at all.

Again, with my background...I prefer to avoid DSP at all costs. A properly set up system, does not need time alignment, signal summing, and other electronic massaging.

But, to each their own.

That's what I have was just curious with Tidal and them having uncompressed HiFi quality if I was able to send it through my phone.
