Yes but between 2014 and 2017 there was no Raptor - 2015 and 2016 MYs were raptorless. This was likely due to the complete overhaul of the gen 13 f150's move to aluminum and all the retooling involved. Either way I'm interested to see what Ford does.

JFC this myth needs to die. EVERY SINGLE RAPTOR MADE IS 50 STATE LEGAL, INCLUDING CALIFORNIA. PERIOD. If bought out of state you will need to get a smog check and get the truck weighed. THERE IS NO MORE TO BE SAID ON THE MATTER.

Just one... the smog and weight of the truck requirement is only true if the vehicle has been titled previously, or is considered used. If it is new, regardless of what state the purchase was made, no need for Smog or to weigh the truck.

This is totally wrong.

All just Speculation until Ford announces a Press release. I wouldn't put much confidence in any of the online articles.

I like the RD and Tech that manufactures have been putting in these trucks. On the other hand it's now passing the threshold of my cost to own. At some point these trucks will hit a target price that will impact sales.

I usually purchase new, however my 13 & 18 models I purchased used with less that 5,000 miles. Dealers around here were MSRP or the next guy will take it. My 20 I just purchased I picked up for Invoice minus Holdback. Couldn't pass it up.

Gen 3's pricing will most likely be out of my budget for sure.

How much was the holdback?

I think with the Bronco coming to market then they will probably wait a little while before they come out with Raptor versions of the Bronco, F150 and Ranger

Okay, sounds good! I guess that is just “my”experience buying 5 vehicles out of state, 3 gas and 2 diesel, over the last 5 years? 4 were brand new trucks, I was the first and only owner, and I never had to do a vin verification, smog, or weigh the truck upon registering, licensing, or titling. All completed at the lovely Costa Mesa DMV in Orange County.

However, 1 of the 5 vehicles I bought was used, and what you mentioned in your post, about weight and smog, including a vin verification was true for me. In fact, because my experience with the new vehicles worked out the way it did, I questioned the gal at the DMV when dealing with my used purchase and her explanation was what I shared just now. So it works for me.

Maybe the angry ladies at the DMV think I’m cute.

Anyways, on behalf of Commieformia, and the DMV, I am sorry you have had to fit the bill for smogs and truck weighing.

Socal still has crazy prices because there is too much money in the area and people don't care.

Look in the midwest, have a road trip home, and save yourself $7K (could even ship it and still save a lot). Or buy one in socal at near msrp so the next guy can complain about why raptors are still so expensive in CA.

Northern VA was definitely one of the last holdouts with regards to ADMs on the east coast. Even 2019s had ADMs. Good to see dealers are coming to their senses now.
Mine had a $2,500 ADM when I purchased mine in April of last year. Of which, I refused to pay!

When I was looking I saw a $2500, 2000 and 1600 ADM fees. Makes paying $699 (still too much) seem not as bad.
