Thanks guys!

Ironman, looks great. Still waiting to take delivery but a winch is high on the mod list. Since I don't have I'm trying to understand how easy it is t remove and replace that lower grill mesh. Does it pop on and off? Did you mod i somehow?

As of right now I put in a couple of plastic push tabs and it seems to hold it great.
When I need to get to it I just remove the 2 tabs and then the grill.
Should take only a few seconds to remove.
They look something like this.

Yeah I used to carry a nut driver as well. Even with the stock screws, it was only a one to two minute thing. Well thought out ironman.

Nicely done. I have a MIG welder on the christmas list. Seems like a good trade to teach myself in 2013 after seeing how useful the skill is in the desert and garage.

Working on a jet horizontal band saw I saw on craigslist near me for a great deal. That and a decent grinder and I should be set for basic stuff (besides safety gear).

I love fabricating, use to do it back in Canada for a Sandblasting/ painting and Fabricating company.
Use to work mainly on car haulers.
Been a while but I do still do it once in a while. I have a DeWalt hand grinder, Rigid cut off saw, bench grinder, drill press, and a Mig.
Would like to get a tube bender here soon to see if I can make my own front bumper.
Doesn't hurt to give it a try.lol

great job, I don't have the benifit of a welder or the skills, I just bought and it arrived today a winch and a receiver mount. I bought a front hitch from Wicked and will keep the winch in the bed ( under the cover ) till I need it and I can moing on the front or the back depending on the situation.

I really like the concealed look behind the grill, sweet job.

I was also going to go with a receiver in the front so I could switch from front to back but I couldn't see storing this thing in the bed of the truck.
Show us your set up when you get it installed. I'd like to see it done.

It's a great skill to know how to do, learned it back in high school (shop class) but it does take some practice.
There are instructional videos on youtube if you really want to learn.
Might not be a bad place to start. The welder I bought from Home Depot for around $500 about 11 years ago.
Basically a Lincoln Mig welder 140

It really is a great deal. 10,000lb with a lifetime warranty/ waterproof and a synthetic rope.
Bought it here.
