OK - I started out with issues of MFT freezing on me in the NAV and sometimes the back-up camera (you can refer to the topic located HERE), but I think I have found the culprit... It's my 2+ year old iPhone 4... My Ford Truck hates it.

I have done several experiments, including other iPhones, and there is/are some apps on the phone or the phone itself that are causing all of the problems. Supposedly, Ford has a "list" of all of the apps that have caused problems with MFT freezing and such, but I am trying to get that list.

Has anybody else heard of this issue and/or do they know where this list of verboten apps is located???

CHEERS!

Another member on here just recently switched to Android, and it was worse...

I don't think ANY phone works with MFT well, it's a POS. Haha.

Actually, with the phone disconnected (BlueTooth off or in Airplane Mode), MFT works wonderfully. Have my iPhone sync with the truck and WHAMMO! SNAFU'd.

So, my conclusion is either my specific iPhone 4 and my truck do not get along or there is an app on my iPhone causing this issue. The Ford tech said to get rid of the Emoji application first. I did that, but it still has a problem, so I am still guessing on whether or not it's a iPhone 4 issue or just a specific app issue...

I saw it work great with the Ford Service Advisor's iPhone, so.... now what?

It's not your phone, it's the way the apps are coded that it doesn't like. Also if you're JB'd it changes some of the API's and that could cause issues as well.

Anyway - back on topic - I have tried my iPhone and my wife's iPhone (both 4S') and they BOTH are making the NAV completely freeze up when connected via Bluetooth. I'm on AT&T and she's on Sprint, so it's not a CDMI or whatever deal. Disconnect and restart the truck gets everything back to normal.

WTF?!

Does iPhone 5 have this issue also? I am eligible to replace my iPhone with a new phone, but do I get a new iPhone 5 only to find out the same damn thing happens?

What am I missing here?!?
