Interest in a South Dakota Black Hills run on Memorial Day Weekend 2013?

now my family is excited I sure hope we get to go now their way we are going some place this year hills this spring or Omaha zoo this summer.

I'm going in to talk to the ceo of the ethanol plant on the 8th for some other stuff. I'll bring up seeing if he wants to sponsor something what would be good? we have hat as of now I'll sponsor lol seed, ethanol, get some frf looking like a farmer.

This sounds like it could be fun. Ill talk to the wife and see what she thinks. I have some time off to use, I think I already have those days off but may use vacation before and after it. I have a tent that goes in the truck bed so rain doesnt bother us much and we dont take up as much space in a site. Ill keepan eye on this thread and let you know what she says. Any chance I could convoy with someone coming past WI, if we do go?

We really want to see mount Rushmore. will we be able to see it during the run or should we plan to go before of after the run?

Hey Kieth, we'll see Mt Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial during the run. Id also like to find a good forest ranger station to stop at. Some have really awesome exhibits you can see for free. Also along with exploring the black hills national forest, we may have trails in badlands national park and buffalo gap grasslands. We were also tossing around things like a picnic lunch somewhere scenic and a bbq at camp. Overall it'll be a nice vacation as well as an awesome run.

I know a guy that dose hunting and fishing guiding by deadwood. I could ask him about some scenic spots? or good roads to drive on? or should we just see what go's down? I'm not sure what direction he is from deadwood.

Well, looks like its a go for me as far as the wife part goes. she had a stipulation of stopping at the mall of america at some point on the trip though. probly on our way back to WI. just gotta check the vacation situation at work 2morow and I should be good to go. Ill have to pick up a big gas can and some other trail stuff though. I do have some radios that my pappy n I use when we go bow hunting. (the 2 mile radius kind) Will these be good or do I need something else? Will work out details for meet up with IL crew as it gets closer as well. have to debate on bringing the pooch with too. shes good socially with other dogs, but loves to chase wildlife and doesnt give up easily. (lab/pitbull mix, 2.5yrs old)
