The worst is the when they also have the marker lights. I drive by them at night and I’m like sweet, another Raptor...then it’s just an XL/T w the grille and lights. LAME!

I was going to say the same thing lol. These Toyota fan boys with their marker lights thinking they need them and they're cool.. they're DOT required for us not them.

Ford sells the Raptor like grills for 150’s and 250’s/350’s here locally in the parts department. They’re not the fake DooD ones either.

Check out the grill and markers. :homoswitch:
I’m sure they are the same eBay garbage you see everywhere.

I was taking my kid to get ice cream after a little league game a few months back, and apparently the local Dairy Queen is a meetup spot for guys who want to show off their (heavily modded) trucks.

I get approached by a couple guys who chat me up a bit about my Rap. "Are those beadlocks?" "What offset are you running?" And, my favorite, "Does that still have the small displacement v6?"

I note that it does have the v6, but gets and up goes like no other stock truck I've ever driven. One guy retorts, all proud, "Well mine runs the 5 liter v8" and nods at his truck. It's the 11th gen F150 (mid-2000s), with about every after-market cosmetic Raptor part you could imagine (namely, the grill), including some rust peeking out from the plastic bolt on fenders. I looked at the truck and back at him a couple times, and just said, "Well, it looks fast."

He died a bit inside as I walked away with my son to get ice cream.

I don't know that I see impostors so much as I see lots of modded trucks. A lot of them tend to look like a raptor since the raptor is a popular look sure, but I don't think that means they're trying to pass there's off as a raptor. Overall, I don't have a problem with people modding their truck in whatever way they want. I actually think it's more of a positive, as I like seeing all the different mods and personalizations out there. And it strengthens the aftermarket business making mods more affordable for all.

Imitation is just the best form of jealousy.

I know they wanna be like me, but for what ever reason, they are not, and I am better. makes me happy.
