I have owned a Dewalt cordless impact for several years and it is my favorite tool. It even sends young kids running when it hits enough resistance and starts impacting!

My wife is my impact wrench...I don't work on anything anymore. That's my stipulation for her citizenship, not immigration's.

:sponge:

I have looked into a DeWalt but heard that their quality is not where it was 5 years ago or so.

Yah, if I were buying today I would do my homework on the ratings or reviews. I wasn't necessarily recommending Dewalt, although the little thing has chugged right along for me. I think the big difference now is in the battery technology.

Anybody try using a cordless impact on raptor lugs? Can you get through a tire rotation on 1 battery? (And yes I would use a torque wrench to finish them off tightening)

I'm considering getting one for the road and for when I don't feel like starting up the compressor, but not if they don't get it done torque-wise. $450 for the kit seems high but then again good tools are usually not cheap, and you pay for convenience.

I've been looking at this one, looks like way more torque for the $$.

Man they didn't test the porter cable impact that's what I have and it's worked great for everything I've used it for. Minor stuff like installed bumpers taking off lugs and other bolts en used it to put in my rear 3.0's this past weekend but of course I used a torque wrench to tighten the bolts lol
