Hello Everyone,

I have been a forum member since 2013, and have owned 5 different Raptors since they were introduced in 2010. I am hoping this will spark some solid information being exchanged. I am strongly considering coming back into the Raptor community. I have my eye on a 2024 801A Raptor Series. I see that there is a 802A packing available, but I have never liked Recaro Seats, and am far from a graphics type guy.

My question? The question I have is what is with the 11k package to a 802A? Bigger tires, shocks, seats and graphics? Most likely this will be my last truck I purchase, so I am seriously looking for input. Is it worth it? I am also thinking I can work a bit of a deal on the 801A that is on the dealer's lot.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Mark

What’s your use case?
commuter? starbucks parking lot cruiser? off road hero?

give us some context.
FWIW, the 801a is plenty competent, and the wheel/tire combo is already approaching 100# so consider that. If 37’s are important to you, they can be added to the 801a without the other stuff.

I just bought an 801a 2024 and kinda regret not getting the 802a package. Im now looking for lift and bigger tires for mine. If you plan on going with 37s eventually just do the 802a

I just came back to a 24 802a. This is my forth Raptor and first 37. For me I like the stance of the 802 compared to a 801. You also get the dual valve shocks in the 802 and hopefully resale value will hold better than a 801, as there is less of them. Also good to try something different.

Good luck with your purchase!

On #5 Raptor myself.
Have the 2023 37PP, with the poverty single valve.

I've read nothing but good things about the dual valve shocks.

Question to you is how often would you offroad to take advantage of the dual valves and do you value 37's from an aesthetic and "functional" use?
I was cross shopping new 24's and used 21-23's. I didn't want to spend near $90k for a 802, so it was out of the picture early.
Found a 23 for a good price, so never did pull the trigger on a 801A.

Went for a 24 801 test drive, ended up driving the 23 and I liked it enough to not really haggle on the 24.

2024 802a (I drew a red line at MSRP, pay less if you can, try to not get scammed by extended warranties and the like, I missed on that a bit). I wanted 37's and decided to go with the stock (integrated) package. I am very pleased with the result. I know, I am driving like a grandpa. My view is that trucks don't fly or swim particularly well, so don't. The V-6 is plenty powerful. I am still working on understanding the 700+ page users manual. The service manual has just been published, finally. I added some lights but do not plan on much more in the way of enhancements. I'll probably go the K03's or Mickey Thompson's when I wear the stock tires out.

Purchased a new 801a early in 2023. Went to Raptor Assault in October of 2023. After driving their 802a trucks I ordered an 802a. Been happy with it so far. Still looking for a deal on a Raptor R at msrp. Wouldn't consider going back to the 801.

100% worth it. Owned 4 w/ 37 and won't go back to 35. Owned plenty of 35's as well, but 37 is well worth it to me
