There won't be any $2500 rebates because of supply chain issues, and there are plenty of people that would gladly take a '21 in Jan '22 at MSRP. If you wouldn't take a '21 Raptor delivery in January, why would you take it in December?

Hello All,

I just got off the phone with a very educated dealer on the "situation" all the trucks that are being held are in fact missing the ECU and some are missing the stability module chip based controllers. Yes, they are also missing the Fender Flares.

I have a great Dealership that has been very helpful, they said if we get them in late December it will be a blessing. The dealership also mentioned that some of the 2021 units won't be delivered until Mid January, she is pushing for a discount to get this below MSRP since it's last year's model at that point. Not sure I will even take it unless I can get a discount because in a few years all of this will be behind us and then I have a year older truck than others.

I am just stating what I was told by a dealership that appears to be very well connected to the factory.

I personally think the way FORD treated us is complete crap and they should step up and give us a 2500 rebate for "late-delivery" it's not the dealership's fault. Why should they have to offer a discount when they didn't really have much control.

Just my two cents, I will do my best to answer any questions I can, but I have stated here pretty much all I know at this time.
Sorry, won't believe any dealer with "inside knowledge" thanks for passing this along but dealers only tell you what makes them look good.

If it arrives early, they will be the heroes! If it arrives late, they told you it would be a while. Dealer mottos are "under promise, over deliver". I don't believe a word of it.

Traditionally a new model year starts around September (some brands make the change even earlier). This means that in pre-COVID era, any truck build from say September would already be a MY 22. The only way for this not too matter is if vehicle production never gets back to the old ways.

So many worried about selling them before they even take delivery. This timing won’t make a big difference in the end. 5 years from now, a 21 with 60k or a 22 with 72k… going to be minimal.
Probably very true indeed! But my deal on the incoming 21 is 5k ADM. I don’t think I can justify that if my truck shows up in January…

Well, there are plenty of pictures of hundreds of Raptors sitting in MI without fender flares posted weekly, and those ECM modules missing those features is in-line with my research on the chips all dealers are waiting on, so I tend to belive this one.

I know it sucks! I wish there was a way to get FORD to get these done but I really think they could care less, I don't want to Rub Salt into my wound, but get this. So trucks built this week have everything they need in stock and will likely ship after they are built. It's obvious FORD doesn't practice FIFO. I am very concerned about Mice chewing on wires and the rust getting to these as they are just sitting. Let alone a hail storm comes thru and totals them all.

That’s what ****** me off. I could understand all getting pushed back but not choosing to allocate parts on hand to later ordered/built trucks and letting ours just sit

So, you believed that tonneau covers and spray in bedliners caused the issue too? Look, there's a chip shortage and delays but I just don't trust any dealers word
