The intercooler fans are on all the Ecoboost F-150s, not just the Raptor. The reason is because they are trucks, not high speed street cars. Trucks are expected to tow heavy loads at relatively low speeds, so the fans provide cooling airflow when the airflow from road speed is low. Similar to the radiator fans. I’m not sure of the variables for the IC fans at this point, so I’m anxiously waiting for Cobb to include the IC fan tables in their software, so we (I) can adjust it to my liking.
Yeah that video is not done very well. I’ve already challenged Mishimoto about it and they sent me an updated version. Bottom line is the Mishi intercooler retains the fans.
We've added the IC fan control table plus a IC fan monitor into our Protuner software (ATP), and will just need to release an update for the end-user software (AT). Should be able to make that happen soon. I'll ping you when that update is available!
Any update on adding this capability to the AT? I’m really wanting this ASAP. Thanks Cobb Tuning for all you do for the enthusiasts!
