So, does offroad equate to Rock Crawling or something that I assume doesn't need horsepower? What's the issue with PreRunner's having 600hp? And yes, I'm biased, I added the Roush package, and I'm likely a street queen.

They have 25+" of suspension travel to keep up with 600 horses..plus all the custom fab work done and a race approved roll cage.

Hey power is power. There are several ways to get it and strapping on a supercharger is one of the easiest ways to do it. It has advantages and disadvantages. If a guy is going to stay on the street 90% of the time then go for it. It will in the long run wear your internals of your engine faster but that is to be expected. Bottom line is it has to do with your driving style as to which way you should try to get the hp numbers.

Some would say that the Raptor as a street queen is just a waste but on the other hand it has got to be one of the smoothest vehicles you will every set your ass down in. So doesn't that make it a pretty good candidate for street use. Yes it's got a ton of offroad features and capabilities that won't be used but it's probably got one of the highest resale values of any truck on the market as well. So from a financial standpoint it's actually still a pretty decent idea because your investment won't depreciate by 1/3 as soon as you drive off the lot in it. Besides, the Raptor just looks badass driving down the road so who wouldn't want one?

The Raptor is quite a bit heavier than most 1/2 ton trucks that are going to try to "race" you so if you are wanting to make sure that you can beat a large majority of them then you will have to make more hp and a supercharger as I already said is going to be an easy way to do that. By the way who are we to judge how people spend THEIR money on THEIR truck? If it was in the dirt a lot I would highly advise against putting a supercharger on it but in the end it is not my money or vehicle.

You should've titled this thread "I think I need a mustang..."

You could also get a Dodge SRT-10, but I'm not sure there would be enough ground clearance for you to hang your truck nutz... :lewx4:

The point is the Raptor stock power plant far exceeds the capability of stock or even modified suspension.. As Chris Ross about his high horse power long travel Raptor... With leaf springs you can not control axle wrap/hop! Period! That is why he is spending another $20k+ to four link and cage his truck!

And as far as "racing" in the bullrun... There is no way i can even attempt to keep up with half of the exotics. I am not even considering it, we are using stealth (no leo stops/tickets), long range (no refuelling stops), creative driving and route planning (dirt/gravel/fields)..
