I had my front camera replaced and also the drivers visor replaced. Now whenever the lights are not in the "off" position, both the center and dash display are dim like it's night, so you can barely see them in the day. I've looked through all the settings and can't find anything related to this. I called the dealer and the techs were gone early and the service manager didn't have any idea. Anyone run into this before? I believe there is a light sensor that controls this?

Any help is appreciated, other than from Crazy 911 because he is never going to pickup or drive his truck. It's going to be a static display.

A great tutorial video for
you...

So far so good after doing the reset to Sync. It was annoying as hell when it goes so dark in the day, you really can't make anything out when it's bright. I was thinking the tech goofed up something in the sensor when he replaced the camera. Hopefully it stays fixed.
Here is what I tried for you. I had the truck outside and it's nice and sunny the headlight switch is in auto and I drove it into the garage and the headlights went on and the screen went to dim mode. I backed out of the garage and set the switch to on and went back in and same thing, screen went to dim. I went into the screen and tried to re-configure the settings and could not make any changes

I brought the truck back outside in the sun and put my bandana over the sensor on the dash and the screen and gauges dimmed in the auto and on setting and also while in park and in drive. I could not get it to change in the settings, but my Raptor is an 18 if that makes a difference. Sounds like a glitch, Did you pull the battery terminal for a minute or two?

Thanks, I just did the reset where you hold down the power button and the skip/fast forward button at the same time for a few seconds. I then had to turn off the truck and restart it, and it seemed to be normal again.

This is because the light sensor on the dash senses and controls the lighting for the headlights separately from the dash (radio, HVAC, and all lighted buttons) lights.

I personally hate that with a passion, and therefore have electrical tape covering my light sensor as I like my dash lights to be on all the time, along with headlights (I leave the switch in auto)

When you have the sensor taped all the time in auto are your gauges at full illumination or half and what is your screen at? What year is your Raptor? I'm curious if all gen 2`s act the same when you cover the sensor or if the Sync update alone makes a difference?
