You would think that, but a lot of buyers take a quick look inside, say "leather seats, check" and move on to negotiating. I'd argue that you'll likely get a higher percentage of your money back with a no-options 800a than from a fully loaded 801a. Now in 2020, the 800a had the cloth seats and that was a huge red flag. But 2020 801a? Easy to sell at a profit right now.
Doubt it... I looked around used before deciding to order Gen. 3. If it didn’t have tech pkg with adaptive cruise and few other things I didn’t even bother opening the search page. And most these days are the same way

You didn't. I did. Assuming that most people are like you is a classic mistake. Enough people aren't like you that low option trucks are in demand. Now, you get a lower price, agreed. But as a percentage of the original price? Don't be so sure.

It's weird because dealer orders are usually loaded to the gills with worthless expensive crap that increases profits.
Not always. I buy from a small dealer and if they can't get anyone to take an allocation, they always order a low optioned Raptor for stock. I remember in 2018 I checked their inventory and they had 3 SuperCabs with the 800 package.

very small market and they were always afraid to order a fully loaded Raptor and be stuck with it.

My salesman called me one day in 2018 and said he had an allocation and if it was your build what would you build. I gave him a high spec Raptor build with blue interior and base wheels. He put the order in and Ford said this build will require beadlock wheels. So he ordered it and it sold within 1 week.

Agreed. There was one dealer in Colorado that had three base 801a. Another had one. There were a few with stickers and moonroof. I found surprisingly few in other states. Most of them were tarted up with stickers and moonroof, so my choices were pretty slim. I think I had four in Colorado and a couple in Texas to choose from, and that was during the middle of the lockdown, last April. I would have ordered, but with all of the uncertainty I decided to take what I could get.

Low option trucks are in high demand like everything else is in high demand. It’s the current market. If someone wants a new raptor that bad sure they will get a low optioned one just to get it. But if the market wasn’t so crazy from Covid and chip shortage then you would see far more optioned trucks ordered than base models. Base trucks are for fleets and heavy work use. These are more adult toys and the vast majority want many of the optional equipment available. Plus in this day and age having some of these upgrades can save you handily on your insurance... I know I get a deal on my insurance by having adaptive cruise lane keeping and my car being connected and able to track its location It’s can be a big savings that over time equates to you save I more than you spent for the packages.

In every type of purchase, there will always be an uneducated buyer. I am not one of those buyers and when selling I even tell the buyer what they are getting and not getting. I would never buy a 800 raptor but this is just me.

Lol, a lot of back and forth on trim but yet nobody wants this "base" model allocation - guess everyone on here already has a truck or doesn't want this 800a with tow, torsen and convenience. just trying to help!

I ordered an 800A - Leadfoot, Upgraded Beadlocks, and Spray-In Bedliner. Really only want the performance and less of the extra crap.

All you fools that are suggesting that the truck won't fetch a good price on resale or trade actually have zero idea of how the used car market actually works. With very, very few exceptions (usually on high dollar stuff that retails waaaaay over a Raptor), the lowest optioned model will return you the highest amount (in terms of percentage of original MSRP). Nobody cares about 'tech packages' that will be woefully outdated in 3 years or moonroof prone to leaking when they buy the thing out of warranty. You guys are just flat out wrong.
