Talk to us after TRX runs BAJA as Raptor did. TRX has absolutely no cred until they run Baja then drive it home.
Why do you think this matters when over 90% of Raptors (and TRX’s, along with lifted Jeeps, etc.) never leave pavement?

Both the Raptor and TRX are awesome trucks, both have pros/cons, both are selling extremely well.

I personally think that Ford has gotten a little too fat, dumb, and happy (complacent is the nice way of putting it) with the Raptor based on the Gen 3. Which is why the TRX is a great wake up call to Ford. I personally am on my way to ordering a 22 TRX to replace my 2019, 15,000 mile pavement princess. Maybe I’ll be back if/when the R makes an appearance.

Why does it matter that the Raptor is Baja tested? Stock truck runs the toughest 1000 mile race in existence and you don't know why it matters? TRX is probably more your speed if you don't care about capabilities beyond 0-60 times.

Ford puts out 5 link suspension - then EVERY single truck manufacturer follows suite

It’s a nice bragging right for Ford to say, I get that. Just don’t think that it applies to the real world of most of its customers.

My Raptor has fit all of my needs/wants, except for the lack of a good sounding V8 with a lot more power. TRX happens to fill that very void. I never thought that I would even consider straying from Ford trucks, but I can’t help but want that blown V8 with the gorgeous interior.

The sound of the TRX comes with a cost (aka crappy fuel economy). Below is a pic of the fuel economy from the TRX and the Raptor on a trip from our home in Missoula to San Juan Island and back. It was the same time of year (October of 2020 in the Raptor and October of 2021 in the TRX) but on the way home in the TRX we had “gale force wind warnings“ from Anacortes until damn near Ellensburg, and we fought some of the worst head winds I’ve ever driven in. You definitely have to pay to play, especially at the gas pump.

I'm sure I would enjoy a TRX. I've owned Dodges and been happy. I can afford the gas. But I would get range anxiety. A 60 gallon tank would be a nice touch ...
