In other words, their desire to go 90 doesn't trump my desire to go 75. It's not like everyone needs to pile behind the 50 mph grandma in the right lane just so the guy who wants to do 90 has a clear path.

And YOU are the people I give the old #1 to as I drive by.

I am clearly going 10 mph faster
than you. When there is space in front of you, pull right, and let me pass...and you can move back left and camp all you want.

This type of ****** lane discipline would get your license pull in many parts of Europe.

Jennifers. Complaining about MPGEEES since 2010. :p

I’m not breaking my stride to get in behind a slow mover to let someone with more pace past me. I will get out of their way at the earliest opportunity though because having a great blocker is important..

This behavior is fine.....it is the people who driving 80 in the left, pass a car doing 70. But refuse to move right after the pass because there is a car 1/2 ahead the will have to move left agin.

Not asking these people to "break stride"...just move right for 5 seconds.....let faster cars pass, then they can move left again.

bottom line...you should not be in the left lane unless you are actively passing somebody.

Yet you feel your desire to go 75 trumps their desire to go 90? How do you justify that?

Easily. I'm the vehicle ahead of them. The reverse would apply for the guy going 60 ahead of me. He doesn't have to speed up or move over to the right lane currently going 50 mph just to accommodate me. The lead car sets the pace.

I should note that if you're going maybe 1-2 MPH faster than the right lane vehicle, and there's plenty of space ahead after that vehicle, then sure, give it a little gas for a few seconds, complete the pass and get out of the way.

I get what you’re saying, and I make a serious effort to not plug up the left lane, and like you, I’m not breaking my stride to get in behind a slow mover to let someone with more pace past me. I will get out of their way at the earliest opportunity though because having a great blocker is important.

Blocker is a good point. Blockers are great if you intend to go way over the speed limit yourself, and cops view their vehicle as a higher value target than yours. I mean, who wants to pull over a civic when you can bag a Raptor?

Not to mention, you never know when someone may have a legit medical emergency or similar.

If there really is that kind of emergency, then they should be calling 911, or at least driving with hazards on. I would get out of the way of someone driving with hazards on. Although most of the time, hazards are on because the vehicle is either towing illegally and they know it or it's a POS that could explode at any minute. Either way, I'm happy to keep my distance.

Every state has a sign “slower traffic keep to right” it doesn’t specify what speed just don’t hold up faster traffic. I saw a cop pull over a Prius who was in the fast lane holding up traffic, it was beautiful. Lol

Every state also has speed limit signs. Hard to make a legal argument that you're breaking the law for going 55 in the fast lane when the speed limit is 55. It's not like anyone can legally pass you.

THIS ^^^^ is what's wrong with this country today. F*cking ***** that think just because they're going the "speed limit" in the left lane that no one has a "right" to pass them. Well F*CK YOU. Only in Houston can you get away with being such a worthless POS. In rural Texas, you would be shot for being a dumb-ass.

Oh yeah, bless your heart and have a nice day...

Chill out dude. I never said it was the right thing to do, or what I do personally. I'm just saying that it's rather hypocritical to claim someone is breaking the law by driving in the pass lane, when they want to break the law by going faster than the speed limit. And no cop is going to pull you over for it.

And even if someone did drive speed limit in the passing lane, there are much much worse POS things to do then that.

Yes we hear about these justified shootings all the time (sarcasm), always involves somebody with a "come and take it sticker" as well.

You aren't saying anything different than what I'm saying. Perhaps you didn't follow what I meant by 'pile up behind grandma in the right lane', That means I can't switch lanes without dropping my speed to go behind someone going slower than me.
