Just installed mine this morning. With only 420 miles on the motor there was oil in the factory pcv tubing.

I do all my own oil changes and do them religiously every 5k miles. I'm at 34k miles and truck has not been consuming any oil between changes.

I am curious where you guys with catch cans think all this oil is coming from, if truck isn't consuming a meaningful amount between changes. Someone mentioned its fuel vapors that are also caught in the catch can?

After just over 500 miles of driving since I installed the JLT Catch Can ( Oil Seperator ), I decided to take a look. I’m shocked at what is in there after only 500 miles! View attachment 113395 View attachment 113396 View attachment 113397 Best $139 spent on the maintenance of this thing yet!

Installation takes about 20 minutes - super easy - no drilling.

*I had driven the truck about 200 miles when I purchased and installed the catch can.

I ordered one too and I really like it. But do you have to take off the foam engine cover every time you check it? Because I do and its kind of annoying, I was hoping I could just unscrew it whenever and check but there isnt any room cause the can is literally touching the foam cover

Yea I noticed that as soon as I put the cover back on. Was thinking about just cutting the foam where the can is to get rid of the annoyance

No - Are you sure that you reinstalled the foam cover properly and it is all the way down? Maybe try looking into that and/or try adjusting the angle of it a little and you should be fine. You only need about 1/2” or so.

Yeah man and I spent a good hour trying to figure out how to run the hoses under the foam cover so that its not doing that but I cant seem to get it right. I cut the foam piece out it told me too on the instructions but like I said it sits right up against the catch can so I cant screw it off without actually removing the foam cover. The foam cover is on all the way but its like somethings not sitting right underneath but I cant seem to figure out what.
