Hello guys I’m currently attempting to install a stereo system in my 2019 raptor. My question is, what is the best way to add an amp with factory B&O stereo. First time doing this.

@goblues38 has contributed a pretty significant writeup on the topic. I have a 2017, and thus the Sony system but did a similar upgrade.

I did speakers/components up front, able to handle the planned amp I would go for. Some dynamat on the doors for good measure. I went with components up front.

At first I kept the stock sub enclosure and went with a shallow 8” replacement but when I upgraded the main amp I went with a Mobile Toys 10” behind the seat shallow sub. it’s loaded, matched with a 450w JL amp so I ended up at 75x4 main amp. For a DSP I got the RF DSR1 - this won’t work for the b&o.

I’m pretty sure you can do the doors, speakers and wiring first, these consume a good deal of time for the install. have this done and complete by replacing the amp or amps, cable up your connections and power up for testing.

Save your money and DO IT RIGHT the first time so you don’t end up with a year long project that you keep coming back on.

I've seen you post in multiple threads regarding the sub. Can you post a couple pics of your setup now since you switched from the stock enclosure and shallow 8"? I'm looking to add a sub and like you said, do it right the first time lol

I used the following in my ‘16 Expedition with the Sony system and amp. Just unplugged the connector from the amp, and spliced the LC2i into place. The aftermarket amp plugs into the LC2i’s RCA jacks. Turn your amp, and LC2i, to your liking… then enjoy.

With this setup all you have to do is mount the LC2i (mounted mine just forward of the subwoofer enclosure behind the side rear panel on driver side; third row seat area). Mounted the amp under the third row seat (seat still folds with no interference; added spacers under seat bolsters).

I also upgraded the speaker in the enclosure to a Kicker 8 inch sub. Stuffed the enclosure with polyfill as well. That tricks the speaker into thinking it’s inside a larger enclosure to optimize it’s output range. I’m limited on enclosure size as I did not want a big box taking up needed space, or making itself look inviting to those up to no good. Out of sight, out of mind.

Btw, I did clean up all that crap my messy passengers have been leaving in the back of my freaking truck!!!

I have a 2019 Raptor as well. I did this and I'm pretty happy with it. Replaced all door speakers and sound deadened the doors etc. The Zen went up about $300 since I purchased it which is crazy!
