HOW TO: 2011 Resonator Delete

I was just told by Keith at Southwestfordparts.com that there was a part number change.

The new number is BL3Z5A212R

Confirm before purchasing but Keith seemed to know what he was talking about.

Better cancel that order, I just open my box and BL3Z5A212R has the resonator! Arg!

Keith is on vacation, I just cancelled my order through Henry. He mentioned that they may not be getting any more straight pipes in now since Ford is phasing them out and replacing them with the resonator pipe damnit.

Looks like I'll just hack up the resonator or weld in my cut out right before the muffler and keep the resonator (that could sound pretty sweet)

I got a reply to my email saying the part is not longer available and to ship back for a refund. Are there any aftermarket exhaust systems that also include replacing the resonator?

Not that I know of. Could be some headers out there that do but would have to confirm that. If theres a big enough market for them i'm sure I could get a shop to make some bolt in straight pipes.

Can't any exhaust/muffler place unbolt the resonator piece and fabricate a straight pipe with flanges to pop in the resonator's place? I would think so, but I'm no expert. That way, you have your resonator pipe you can bolt in yourself after-the-fact should the need arise. I was going to find a good exhaust shop around here once I get my cutout to have something similar done.

I'm going to crawl under mine after work and take a look.

Any idea if this fits an '11 screw? The thread seems to hint that it may not, but wondering if anyone has tried?

Just to confirm, the straight piece won't fit a screw because the screw section is longer.

Typical that Ford would discontinue the straight and only stock the current production piece/resonator assembly.

And after looking again, for anyone wanting a straight section, you'll have to cut the ball flange off your resonator assembly and make it yourself.

Honestly I wouldn't worry with it unless you want the truck a *little* louder; the resonator being there isn't *that* big of a deal sound-wise.
