Throw rods, pistons, and head studs at it and I bet it holds more than people would assume.

Depends on what you are doing with the power. I would say a raptor isnt made to do launches which causes the most strain. If that is what you are going for I have a feeling the DS/ tranny will struggle but thats not hard to beef up if you have the funds to allow for it.

Best way to launch on the street is 4x4. Tie rods and cv joints will go before transmission.

Yes Sir!! I went through 3 front ends on my Duramax a few years ago! Had the big boy tranny built up by Clint in Denver at ATS, propane injection, turbo, 200hp programmer, injectors etc. The front end launch in fwd was the only way to get it to hook up and that was still iffy.

All good points so far........

Plus when you build up HP and torque you build up internal pressure so you have to think about how much the stock gaskets can take........

Let's not forget the driveshaft either. They have been snapped with less than 500 rwhp

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

wheel hop will kill the ds with stock hp.

Yeah I raced quite a few dmaxs on the street back when I still had my stangs. Its hard to beat them out of the hole when they launch 4x4 on an unprepped surface. At one time we had three rolling around that put down 900-1000hp at the wheels. Those trucks were freaks and left HARD, but also seemed to break a lot doing so.

Also you have to think about how the rear will react with an offroading suspension with that much torque and how little weight there is on the rear. The load the shocks will take trying to absorb the body roll and axle torque/hop could be very problematic if being launched. Also with how bad the 4wd locking ring is I would be hesitant to launch with that much power in 4wd.

Just sounds like you will be turning a raptor into a lightning to get all that power usable. Especially with a twin screw blower since you are making instant boost. Atleast that is how my mustang whipple was... I would assume the raptor has similar mannerisms.

I'm considering the SDHQ air bag long travel system to put the power down but sounds like i need a drive shaft loop first.
