I bought mine with only ever being in a gen 1 and after that I was sold. I walked in and bought the gen 2 without a test drive.

I went in for a test drive without the intent of buying it. Woe is me. :p A rehash from the other thread:

I did test drive a fully optioned Gen2 out here in Dubai. Lots of power!! I got to push the pedal to the metal with the salesman in the passenger seat, and it was fun! The sound (yes, I know, the sound) was not as pleasant. It sounded more like my old Boxster S I6, but without the throaty exhaust. Like it was trying, but not there yet. Far from the mellow hum of my NA V8.

The steering wheel is a lot more plushy than my Gen1. Like a nice Lexus. Not sure how I feel about that but I'd get used to it. As for steering feel, I'm not a big fan of electronic steering, so I'd pass. I prefer more of a Lotus mechanical steering feel.

All the tech was fine - much of it not needed or probably wouldn't be used. The cabin is just WOW! Such a great improvement over Gen1.

All in all, I felt the Gen2 drive to be somewhat like a sports SUV.

Clearly you did not put the steering to sport mode and the drive select to sport. Go back and retest drive

I bought all my cars without test driving. I just know what I want usually.

Owned a 13 ecoboost FX4 prior and loved it so I knew it could only get better with the Raptor. Didn't drive a Gen2 until it was in my driveway.

I drove a new FX4 F150 and it nearly made me cancel the order. For those that ordered early before first deliveries Raptors didn't exist to test drive. Tried to drive one locally but dealer wasn't having it.

I've rarely had the opportunity to test drive before buying a new vehicle, but have found that it's easier to be offered a test drive in a Porsche, Maserati, or McLaren than certain Fords (GT350, Focus RS, Raptor).
