First, love all the replies. It can be treading on dangerous ground, being a Gen2 owner, a 17 and 19, and never having owned a Gen1. I must say, I look at every Gen1 that passes me by. I love the grill on them, I love the side vents, and of course that 6.2 on the doors.

If any of you are familiar with a youtube channel Obsessed Garage, he owned a Gen1 and a Gen2 and when it came time to sell one, guess which one went. Yep, he's still the proud owner of a Gen1.

I've never driven one. When I was first in the market for a Gen2 I saw 2 Gen1's on a dealer lot for sale. i was shocked at how much they were asking for them. They both sold. Next time I see one for sale, I've got to test drive it and feel engine and hear the exhaust note. Or, maybe not, it might spoil the hell out of me.

I’ve seen Obsessed Garage. Their truck is starting to look a lot like mine.

If you’re in the Bay Area or out this way, here’s your invitation to drive mine if you want.

Congrats.. nice job. Your red ring must be a little bit frazzled by now eh? ;)

What kind of oil & regular maintenance?
Luckily you can get that red ring replacement from built right, just replaced mine and it was stupid easy. I think I will order another one just to have for the inevitable replacement.

Yeah, no more red ring, will replace it later... Where do get these red ring ?

I use Castrol oil. My regular maintenance is engine oil and oil filter change, the canister purge valve.
I will do a big maintenance at the end of the year : engine oil, oil filter, rear and front diff, transmission oil and filter

I have 163,000 now on my ‘11 SCREW. I will be taking care of a few items (cab corners, body and frame protection) for another 2-3 weeks till I get my ‘08 Escape back to DD my 130 mile round trip adds up so ‘11 SCREW will be my weekend, RV after I clean it up. I like to have fun in the sand and etc... I have no doubt as long as I maintain and keep it protected it will last 300k-500k. Can always rebuild or replace drivetrain parts. The truck is a comfortable, enjoyable and wonderful beast that is just classy. Love my truck I am so happy I finally was able to purchase it.

New Gen owner here. My hopes are to drive it until the wheels fall off. Even then I would probably fix it and get after it.

I'm now at 105k on my 2013 and its still going strong an seeing 6-8 ROC runs each year. A few common issues known to the Raptor have come up but nothing that has ever left me stranded.

My Raptor is not my daily driver its mostly used for off-road events and while I will never get rid of it, when I do finally retire it that is when I will do far more upgrades.

My plan right now is to wait and see if the Ranger Raptor makes it over to the US, I will get one of those if they do. If not then I will go with a F-150 or F-250 for truck duty.

Thanks for the LOL. :winner_second_h4h:

I considered asking to be buried in mine too, but that'd be a hell of an excavation project to burden my family with. Raptors aren't exactly petite.)
If I didnt already put in my Will that I'm to be buried in my Corvette,Raptor sure would be a better choice..way more room for them to position me in the bed....Might have to talk to my Lawyer about that.. :) But as it stands now..the Raptor will be towing the Corvette to the Cemetery...;)
