It took 3yrs for the Spanish flu of 1918 to makes its way through the entire population and burn itself out, and that was with no vaccines to stop/slow it down. We are a little more than half way through this so we still have a little ways to go, I'm being conservative here with hope that it will end sooner rather than later. I want my Raptor so I can at least have a little more fun while we trudge through these crazy times.

I think the time of shutting down all businesses and factories is over. They are going to learn to live with it out of necessity.

Love reading the debate back and forth on production times, who's spot got bumped, etc.

And personally, it's a bit funny that anyone still wants a 2021. That will become the year the auto industry forgot. Marred by delays, shortcuts, and excuses from automakers.

But nope, america wants their auto's, and they have to feed the monkey!

With all the bs going on, zero interest in anything until 2023, when we will probably be able to get it with no compromise and at the normal new model release times.

Who wants a 2021 now when the 2022's would typically already be hitting the lots? At this rate they won't even be putting the 2022's out on time (typically july-aug timeframe)
You could also look at it like this, there will be a limited supply of Raptors produced as MY2021. Down the road say like 10-20yrs we could see the 2021 Raptor as a rare species that was super hard to get during the Great Covid Pandemic, causing prices to sky rocket because of the demand for these very rare trucks. Just another perspective to consider and it's not out of the realm of possibilities, stranger things have happened.

Very true. It could happen. Though I think they will end up more like the hot girl with h-e-r-p-e-s. Nice to look at, but you don't want to own it.

I don't think anyone is thinking "damn I'd love to have one of those thousands of F150's that have been sitting in a parking lot waiting to finish assembly". eh, i'm probably wrong, there's always someone. hahaha

Personally, down the road I'll be skeptical of build quality from any 2021 vehicle. Because why mess with that if you don't have to? What did they build? about 9 vehicles this whole year.

10-20yrs down the road we will have almost forgotten about this pandemic and how it impacted the auto industry. Humans in general have very short memories.

I think that is 1000% wrong. I can heard the commentators on the Mecum auctions giving details about models from 2021 "Hey joe, remember that covid thing that jacked up all our lives for two darn years? "yeah bill, that sucked" "guess thats why they made 16 of this particular model. I wonder what production issues it had"

on another note. I'd rather get gang r-a-p-e-d by a pack of silverback gorillas than wear a mask any longer

"Feeding the monkey" in this case is an expression to illustrate the auto industry having to produce vehicles to satisfy American buyers.
This is an interesting point of view.

Wouldn’t you say that the auto industry must produce vehicles for Americans (and the rest of the world) for them to buy in order to not have to file for bankruptcy and layoff thousands or hundred of thousands of people…

But maybe you’d rather see a complete crash of the economy and millions of people on the streets begging for food in the midst of a pandemic.

In the end, the auto industry solely builds vehicles to survive (are dealers having the best time of their life robbing people? That’s another story already debated all over this forum and other).
