just a note, I don't care what you put on top of what. The adhesion of the primary coat is all that matters. If that is the weak point, other finishes or prep work matter little.

Why would you need painters tape to apply ceramic coating, or even expel. ??

If wax, cutting agent or sealants get on the fenders or like material/trim it makes removing those agents very difficult. The (insert car care product here) will last longer on the fender material than on the paint itself.

Large white erasers will remove after its stained but it takes some elbow grease

The fenders are partially a Ford Quality Control issue but I would not use blue tape on a vehicle nor would I let a shop that uses whichever blue painters tape to apply PPF or Ceramic Coating.

3m makes green tape for plastic & moldings which should have been used, purple is used for high heat (300 degrees Fahrenheit or less) but mainly for other hard surfaces.
hahaha lets blame the tape not fords low quality... got it

Looks like a bonding issue but at least they have you squared away.

Probably made out by the same plastic manufacturer who made the bronco hard tops…
