I think after goin gen juan youll prolly be going back to a TRX
When they come down in price, maybe. The days of throwing big money at daily driven trucks is long behind me. I enjoyed the covid prices when I was buying them under invoice and flipping them. Im not spending 70k+ on a truck. Give me a 30k Gen 1 and throw some money at it, enjoy it and get a good chunk of it back when Im done.

the trx isnt a better offroad truck. its just slightly bigger and has more hp. as you know, you dont run out of power offroad, but you run out of suspension. and the trx is just too heavy. if they continue to build and refine the trx, then the raptor will have a true offroad competitor, but until then, there really isnt a comparison. plus the small gas tank.....

I couldn’t speak on its offroad ability. I bought it cause 700hp in a truck hahaha they’re an absolute blast to drive and in all of my vehicles by far the best daily driver, for me. I do not care about mpg, truly. So that may not be everyone’s opinion. I also have not owned a Gen 1 Raptor, yet, so maybe my opinion will change. Especially with cost of entry, I see the Raptor as a hell of a value proposition

A Gen 1 Raptor suspension is not much better than the TRX- if at all. It's nearly as heavy as the TRX. Just not as nose heavy.

Less power, less gears.

It's a Ford though, not a crappy Ram that will be junked due to faulty electronics in 20 years.

correct. point being the first rendering of a dodge offroad truck wasnt as offroad capable as the first gen raptor. just had a lot more power, which is not needed offroad nearly as much as people think. they need to build a few more and tweak what they have built, but alas, dodge discontinued it so lets see what new truck they bring

Yea, I agree- they had nearly a decade and basically prodced a heavier Gen 1 Raptor with a blower.

Let’s be honest, I don’t think they built the TRX for the Offroad enthusiasts. They knew 90% of them would roam the streets. Kudos to those guys who can afford to abuse a $70k+++++ in the dunes and not care if it breaks. This is not in defense of what they built but just my opinion on their approach rather. The Raptor was the icon, purpose built offroad truck that for its time had some power but I beat one in my stock 1500 Hemi. Point being, they threw a 700 hp V8 in a truck with some cool looks and decent suspension

The Raptor is all about suspension.

Ram failed 100%, as usual. They delivered an overweight pig and said- "but 700 HP!!!!" It may be fast on pavement....

Ford delivered on what Ram promised with the TRX when they sold the Raptor R. Fast and light, with a spectacular suspension. Costs more, but that's what it takes to do it right.

Raptor R is in high demand. TRX is discontinued.

I can't comment on the offroad performance as I mentioned but Ram most certainly did not fall. The TRX sold like crazy and did so until the end. They may have failed in the desert but I think you're missing my point and going back and forth with a brand loyalist is hardly worth its time.
