Thanks!

Executive Summary:
Make sure you have a garage to work in, or the weather is not cold it needs to be a clean working environment. you get one bug under the Avery wrap and you are starting over.
Find someone to help you...Unless you are taking the hood off
make sure you clean the surface you are wrapping with soap water and get all the chemicals off so the shit sticks...
Make sure you use the Avery and not the regular 3M,
The knife less tape is great as well
Order enough, in case you make mistake...

found most of what I needed from this thread : 3http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f11/3m-vinyl-partial-hood-wrap-16521/index2.html

Don't scratch this. Order some vinyl from here and order some knifeless tape . The great thing about it is that you can remove it if you f it up.
3M 1080 Vinyl Wrap - Matte Blackhttp://autovinylsolutions.com/3M_1080/3M_MATTE_VINYL_WRAP/Matte_Black_3M

You could get 10 by 5 feet just in case for just over $100.

Knifeless Tape - Finish Linehttp://autovinylsolutions.com/knifeless/Knifeless%20Tape

get a roll of this tape and you are golden. If you need help, PM me and I can walk you through the process... and you don't have to take your hood off. Super easy.

Make sure you get all the wax off the hood or the vinyl wil NOT stick.

-take out the 6 bolts holding the grill to the hood and unplug the amber lights. Remove the grill
-put the tap down around the area you want to cut, the vents and down the side
-use a soap solution to spray on the hood so you can position the 3m as needed
-position the 3M and cut to desired length, always leave more than you think you will need
-Take a sip of your cocktail
-Take another sip
-Remove the 3m backing starting at the back, again make sure you leave enough to wrap under the hood closet to the windshield
-Move forward down the hood removing the backing until it is all removed
-Start pressing the air and water out with a credit card, wrapped in a microfiber towel
-take a sip again
-once you get near the front of the hood, it bends a little, pull an press press the 3m down. make sure you wrap up under the hood. (you might need a little heat at this point since the hood bends a little otherwise in might wrinkle)
-push all the water out get as many air bubbles out as you it is ok to have a few...the 3m is designed with channels and the rest should work themselves out in a couple of days
-pull the knife less tape ends to leave a clean cut (see the video in attached link)
-Now go over again with the credit card( you can really use anything) just make sure you wrap it in a microfiber towel...the 3m will scratch

Do the same doe the bottom piece if desired.

Notes:
1)Leave in a garage or enclosed environment for about 5 hours, do not expose to large temp. changes for the first 24 hours.
2)Make sure the surface is clean and your working area is clean as well...it is a PITA if you get a bug or dirt under the 3m while working

I got my wrap from designs n signs and took it to a local shop who does vinyl wraps they clay barred the hood and installed the wrap for $40. Well worth the money and it is professionally done. I had no experience installing wraps so this was a no brainer for me.

Yes why not soapy water?

I have done it both ways, and it is way way easier without using soap and water. The 3m wraps have air release channels built into the tacky surface and are pressure sensitive so that they can be easily repositioned. To be honest, doing it with soap and water is a big pain in the ass and takes much longer than just installing it the way it is intended to be installed.

I cannot speak to the avery wraps as I have not used them.
