How come no soapy water to install 3m 1080? Is that the control tack?

Yes why not soapy water?

sorry for the delay,

yes the control tack, there are some vinyl's that you can use soap and water on with no issue, in fact I would recommend it, the main one being basic vinyl like something you would run through a plotter
like this--FELLERS Catalog 2013 - NO PRICES

the adhesive does not allow you to pick up and reset. The vinyl that is used to wrap a car, [3m,avery,hexis,orocal] allow you to pick up and reset, actually are pressure sensitive and will not stick until you apply pressure.

From my years of experience with all kinds of vinyl, not even sure how many cars I have wrapped at this point or stickers,I have cut and applied to all kinds of surfaces I say NO soap and water with wrap material. It will cause you more problems, and you will have bubbles. Now you can always use a pin to pop the bubbles if you want to have more work to do.

If someone wants to attack the project themselves pick up the phone and give me a call I am more than willing to share some techniques to a DIY kind of guy,

Here is the stuff I have used & never had a problem:

Rapid Tac-Rapid Tac II

They have prep solution & adhesive remover also. Both are very good

I used soapy water solution ONE TIME to install graphics on a motorcycle & spent 2 days & a ton of aggravation trying to get the bubbles out of it. Re-purchased the decals, used Rapid tac on it & did the whole job in about 2 hours

I was thinking the only thing that bothers me about doing it myself with no garage is the damn pollen
