I'd like an answer to your question too, as I am seriously looking at the hood graphic.

Found this on Adams polishes forum. Doesn't answer the question on durability, but is pretty good info regarding care.

If it's got color to it it'll most likely be an open spot in the sticker that will expose the paint so it'll be the same color as your truck. That's how it's been on the previous Raptors

That's the thing.... If you look at the truck in the video... It's silver.

Oh... Blukrom... I found another thread over on Meguiars online that discussed caring for vinyl stripes.

After reading these threads I am of the opinion that if you get sap on the vinyl and do nt remove it post-haste... Or you let water spots etch... You are pretty much SOL. Vinyl just doesn't like to be abraded. Maybe the Ford graphics are built ford tough. I dunno.

Looking at the video it's hard to tell if it is textured. But is the Raptor logo blue, or is it just an artifact of the video/compression?

It's blue.

It's textured black gloss and is reflecting the blue from the lighted backdrop. It goes black when he walks to the side in the video and other pics available show it at black textured gloss also.

Still didn't order it though. I figure no-one will see it on the hood and I am having a graphic shop go al the way over the roll of the hood to better protect from rock chips.

Well I caved and added the hood graphic to the order. I hope I like it and it holds up. Thanks for all the info guys.

2012 Hood graphic

The dealer just got a 2012 SCrew in, and it had the hood graphic. It has not changed from 2011. It is a flat black, with a "Raptor" cutout that lets the body paint show through.

This dates back to Parnelli Jones' Big Oly Bronco. He painted the hood black to cut down on the glare when racing across the desert. I have owned five big Broncos over the years. I believe the 1990 was a "Victoria" two-tone that was a white truck but had a silver gray hood. All the others were just white. That hood made cross-country drives a LOT easier on the eyes. When I was getting some body work done on my 1994, I had them paint the hood a dark gray. It helps a lot.

I would call the decal a flat black, a bit like the mirrors.

Are you sure it came delivered with the hood graphic, and they didn't order an '11 graphic or have one left over and apply it to the truck?

That would be AWESOME news if it was the same style decal. I love how the paint shows through. Seeing that one guys sig with the blue flame raptor and the black hood graphic with bright blue "RAPTOR" breaking through sold me on it instantly.

hmmm, is that a black truck? so is the graphic just through to the black paint, or is it gloss black of the graphic itself? lol
