Finally got around to fixing my air intake system. It came apart at the spring 13. Made a bracket to hold the tube, I had it held but it couldnt take the pounding. See how this one holds up this time.

Whatever happened to the day, where we only worried about carrying a cooler of beer in the back of our trucks? All that Boy Scout training "Be Prepared" has ruin us!

That is a sweet setup, Hockster!

Thanks for sharing, looking well thought out. Proof will be in the using.

Curious how easy/quick it is to get at Fire Extinguisher. Also curious about what looks like the handles for the HF Jack, one pic shows them under tire and another in back.

Looking at the strap securing the second aluminum storage container... thinking a strap across the middle may be needed as there is a lot of side to side forces at work.

Make sure you Locktite every thing, especially in the HF jack handle. It is unnerving how much stuff will rattle loose after long hours on the trail.

I take the cooler is going in the cab...priorities and all. Have fun at Havoc.

Ya its not the best place to the ext but for now it will work, its easy as hell pull out, ive tested it 25 times ya ya i know the 26th is when ill mess it up.LOL
I think I am going to change my setup anyways. I love the cap but I cap get rid of that old man stigma :( :( :( I know im old but, well you know what I mean...
Ya I was going to keep them under the jack but, they will move around. SO I had some old parts from my testing days, welded them to the side and forced the handles in... THey are a bitch and a half to get out so, they should stay in for the run... Shake down runs are for testing things out!!!

I am an old guy too, back as a teen I had an El Camino with a cap although my cargo was a foam mattress. I see the appeal, like the idea of the slide out. I face similar constraints with my F-1 and bed cargo set up. Too long to tear out and put back for occasional need of the bed. I would do my set up different if I had to do over, but it works pretty darn well so why screw with it.

I assume the tire is too tall with the pull out to go vertical?

Well, the slide doesnt come fully out anyways SO I could stand the tire up but, I would not be able to just pull the tire out without getting inside. With the way it is now I can remove the tire from the side without getting inside... Anyways, I want that new bakflip roll up cover. I will lay the tire flat raised up about 6in just enough to leave the powertank there. I really love the bedslide its so cool to be able to pull it out.
