Hi lift jack storage inside?

oh yes I know about the running boards; Thanks for the pic of the tow hooks that could be a emergency spot hey by the way what is the actually lift point from the manual? anyone know off hand?

Front == _Not_ the LCAs, use the frame.
Rear == _Not_ the differential, use the axles.

p.s. I have jacked from both the LCA and the diff and my truck is still alive to tell the story.

I store my high lift in its case under the seats in my screw. Fits perfectly and stays put also.

For offroad, my setup is to use a Harbor Freight 2.5 ton floor jack with a C4 Fabworks jack spacer attached to a DMZ Skid Plate. This setup gives enough throw to lift from just about anywhere on the frame and under the axles. I built a modest chase rack to mount it while wheeling.

That setup has worked really well for me in all my trips so far. It isn't quite as easy as throwing a Hi-Lift in the back of your truck, but I think for the type of trouble we will usually see offroad with our trucks, it is a more suitable tool.

That said I also own a Hi-Lift, I created a mount for the Hi-Lift and bolted it to the rear two bed bolts. The proper way to lift the raptor with the Hi-Lift is to use the wheel mate adapter (at least I think this is the safest if you are dead set on using the Hi-Lift jack for your main jack). YMMV depending on the wheels you have since the holes in some wheels don't offer enough space to get the hooks in.

I have also raised the truck using the Hi-Lift jack by placing it under the tow hooks. I have done it in both the front and rear. This is more precarious and I wouldn't endorse this approach to anyone. Alas, I have done it, and it worked (without bending the tow hook). A drawback about taking that approach is that if you need to get a wheel off, you really have to jack it up high to accommodate the raptors huge suspension.

Lastly, do not use the Hi-Lift (or any jack for that matter) on your running boards. They are not a structural part of your truck and they will most likely bend.

DMZFAB told me that his skid does not work with a 2.5 ton HF jack. Did you have to modify it?

It worked for me as you can see from the picture, but it wasn't a super easy install. I had to take a lot of bolts out of the HF jack before it would slide in properly. That normally wouldn't present a problem but a couple of the bolts hold the hydraulic piston, and if that gets off-center then it is difficult to reassemble.

I recently took it all apart cleaned and reassembled again, that was much easier to get it back together the second time. If you have the exact same jack then it should work. My recommendation would be to ensure you have all the tension off the piston before removing a single bolt. And don't push down the jack lever when the bolts are out. I am not sure if that is what I did but something pushed the parts out of alignment on the initial assemble.

I think it works great offroad and it is really durable so I would recommend it. Here is a pic after it is cleaned, it isn't a great pic of the skid but it definitely fits.

Thanks for the pic! Your jack is a 2ton by the sticker. I have the 2.5 from your link. If this proves to be a pain i'll just get the 2 ton and pad extension like you.

You are totally right! I am so sorry; That was a mistake! I fixed my original post. Good eyes!

But I tell you what, I will measure the bolt distance on the jack tonight so you can compare what you have against my measurements. That should get you the info you need to see if the 2.5T jack will work. Sound good?
