Seems like KHC has come out with a solution. Not sure who’s seen this I just seen the post this morning. Wonder how much work is involved it looks like you would have to cut your old shock tower out and weld this one in.

Seems like a lot of work to just run gen 2 shocks. I understand upgrading to aftermarket 3.0 is not a cheap upgrade

I was thinking the same thing. I love the idea, but with all things “Raptor” I bet that conversion piece is $800-$1000 for the set, not including install. But they time it’s installed and Gen 2 shocks are sourced I bet the cost is similar to the 3.0 upgrades out there.

still though, cool that someone built this as an option.

Cool option for sure as you can find lightly used Gen 2 shocks for cheap.

But yea, if it costs a lot to install(welding or anything out of my comfort level) then I'll just stick to Gen 1 3.0's.

That seems like a gigantic waste of money and effort for such a minimal gain...

this was my first thought. I'd never cut my factory shock tower out to install newer factory shocks. only way it would be coming out is to install a real LT kit. granted I know thats WAY more expensive but I really don't see the benefit to this when 3.0 upgrades bolt right in and used ones can be had for (I'd guess) less than the Gen 2 shocks and correct install/welding of these parts.

Exactly. Gen2 take offs aren't free, and the average person likely won't be doing those new towers themselves, so you're talking about damn near a wash for price. Such an odd business decision....

Debated going the gen2 route but it’s not worth it IMO. I’d rather have the piece of mind knowing the proper suspension is supporting my truck. No need to Frankenstein anything on the gen 1’s IMO. Either rebuild your stock shocks or buy new.
