Fake carbon fiber? Is this confirmed?? Pricey option (and very misleading) if fake..

I herd him say that too...I didnt order the package but I was under the impression it was real. Looked pretty real to me. If it really is fake then thats pretty weak.

I kind of just figured it was fake, don't usually see real cf in factory vehicles in much less then supercar territory.

In the order guide, it says carbon fiber applique. That would really mean decorative more than anything else. There goes that massive weight savings I guess.

Bingo. If it's real carbon fiber or fake, you're just adding a pretty sticker to the exact same piece. Completely misses the point of utilizing CF in the first place.

I wouldn't trust the dip shit in that video, he reeks of salesman. The order guide says carbon fiber, and if they put fake carbon in a car it generally is disclosed as "simulated" or whatever.

Loads of cars have real carbon fiber, not just super cars. I have real carbon interior and exterior packages in my E63 and the stuff in the Raptor looks just as nice. I didn't order the package but I would bet this week's paycheck it's real.

I watched this a few days ago, I would take it with a grain of salt. If they actually released info like they do during pre-release driving events, they'd make them sign an NDA and this would be a breach of that.

They will release this stuff under their own terms, not in an annotation on a no-name Youtube channel.

They've been bouncing 450 hp around for some time (Raj Nair "accidentally" says 450hp on TV, Forza videogame series features a 2017 Raptor at 450hp), and I have a feeling they'll be above that number just for the shock factor. Same as when Chrysler developed the Hellcats; everyone was saying 650 hp and then the big media event dropped the 707 hp number.

Hope your right!

The cf as shown in photos has looked legit, and that price tag is insane if it's weave look-a-like. People would do them selves a favor a demand 500hp or better. We live in an era where if I was the manufacturer, I could get the vibe that people would be happy with "only 450hp" and turn the power down with a simple engine calibration. Then they'll be happy to offer it in some facelift in a couple years or at extra cost. It's a $50k F-150, demand it all
