ok, so i signed the paperwork for my order today, and in talking with my salesman and the manager, the manager goes to his desk and gives me a print out of the Hennessy packages (up to the ******* insane 800 for $55k) and tells me they are also a Hennessy Dealer and they can add these packages to my truck onsite. According to Top Gear USA the 475 is $7k and thats what my dealer quoted me.

So now my question, and i know the Hennessy guys come around here too, Is this really legit? and when i asked if the Dealership would cover it under warranty and even under the extended warranty he told me yes, does this also sound right? Im accually pretty interested, and it looks like it does have everything you would get from Hennessy, including the performance tune and scanner.

Sound worth it? thanks for any and all info!

IMO: you can never get a true tune for your vehicle without putting it on a dyno and having it tuned in person. Ford Dealers do not have dyno's, so you would be getting a canned tune. If you are worried about your warranty, wait for the FRPP/Whipple that will be out in 5 months.

Also, I am not a fan of Hennessey and would not let them do an oil change or mount tires.

I have similar HP numbers but only spent ~4k. Not knocking any big name tuner, just don't see paying that much extra for a name. They always say, "you get our top notch service, etc, blah blah blah". What I have is the same performance, zero warranty impact (dealer installed everything) but saved 3k.

I would ask the dealer about the dyno question and see how they respond. The no worries warranty part has to be enticeing to say the least.

The only reason to go with Henn in my opinion is the warranty. Some say FRP isn't getting behind the roots s/c due out very soon, some say it is (because they have in the past). Judging by the numbers they are anticipating I don't see how FRP would be behind it but we can only wait and see. The main question you should ask yourself is do you want low end torque or top end hp? The Henn s/c is essentially a turbo that is belt driven. This makes it better for top end. The roots type is better for low end torque. My truck is my DD so I'm interested to see how each effects fuel economy. If you do end up with the Henn kit I would get the dealer to install it and then have it tuned at a shop that specializes in that sort of thing on a dyno. Not only will you get better economy, you will get more power with a proper tune. I also highly recommend getting an aquamist/**** injection setup. It will cool things down a whole lot and of course add MOAR POWWWAH!

I've done the Hennessy 600 and I'm very happy with Hennessy and the truck. True if you're a gear head you can do it yourself cheaper but I'm not that guy so I relied on them to do it for me. This is just my experience.

X2........I don't see how they get away with charging that price for that particular set-up. Buy the stuff yourself, fly out to me and I'll install it and you'll still come out cheaper than $7k.

As for the mods being covered under warranty.......is the dealership giving you some kind of warranty through them and is it on everything or just the mods? I'd have a hard time believing Ford (who has the say so about your warranty) would warranty your engine should it vent itself after having these mods done to it. Especially the tune, the tune is the most important part.....how does Ford know that Hennessey's tune is spot on and perfectly safe in any environment? I just don't see Ford covering a warranty for this.

Thanks for the reply guys, yeah i do agree the 64hp for $7k is a bit high, my brother in law whos been a mechanic for basically his whole life was kinda yelling at me that it was stupid to pay that much, and i know he can do it.... when he has the time...

as for the Dyno, i didnt tour their shop, but basically they gave me a print out of VelociRaptor 475 Upgrade | 2010 - 2011 6.2L F-150 Raptor | Hennessey Performance

Power:
• 475 bhp @ 5,600 rpm

The VelociRaptor 475 Upgrade Includes:
• HPE Air Induction System
• Stainless Steel Long Tube Headers
• High Flow Catalytic Converters
• HPE Engine Management Calibration with Handheld Programmer
• Chassis Dyno Tuning & Road Testing
• Custom Engine Management Software Calibration
• Serial-Numbered Dash & Engine Plaques
• Hennessey & VelociRaptor 475 Badging
• Professional Installation
• 1 Year / 12,000 Mile Limited Warranty

so Dyno tuning is listed.... but that could just be a Raptor on their Dyno, and not MY Raptor on a Dyno....

as for the warranty part, i specifically asked if it would be covered under the extended warranty i am gonna add to my Raptor and the manager told me yes. course it is a dealership manager..... and i mean they never ever tell a lie........... /sarcasm off. and i do see the 1 year 12k mi warranty....

ill get more info too, the head of service at that dealership is a close friend of my dads (why i went there and did get a pretty good deal), and ill have him give him the straight story.

I was looking into it cuz yeah i would like to get a tune, and also an economy one for better milage, decent mods that make it sound meaner. but i am far from a car guy.... sure i can change a tire and my oil and stupid stuff like that.... any more tho and im lost. so i figured if they would cover me still and get some more performance and tunes.... might be worth it!? thanks for the info, and if my dad can get more out of his friend ill let you guys know too.
