I'm pretty sure you have to purchase any sort of maps separate. I could be wrong but here's what I was able to find.

LOWRANCE Topo Insight PRO 2013 East Chartcard at West Marine

It will still work for pre plotted routes. As an example, if you were to load the Toy Run file it will work. You just won't have any trails, roads, landmarks, etc that aren't plotted on the route.

You will want the external antenna jack. Will be a better experience and your maps will be good. Mounted mine on roof. You will want a 2gb SD card or get a SD card from psi with a shit ton of maps for Cali

I might have to reconsider the no serious GF thing if I can find one to buy me toys for the truck

Yeah it was one of these:

"Hey babe, I don't like getting lost when we are off roading and I don't like us taking the lead and getting other people lost too so I got this for you. Is it a good one?"

I gave her the D

We ordered "D"ominos pizza

I have the same GPS and do not run an external antenna and have had zero issues. This thing locks on and stays there. Rumor is the Gen2 has more sensitive receiver than the previous.

I also have the Topo Maps. Be forewarned, they are tied to the SD card they come on. So don't think you can copy them to another, larger card, and expect them to work. I confirmed this with Lowrance. I love the maps though. Only gripe is the HDS can't adjust the thickness of the trails, so when you get onto a road, the trail gets hidden by the road. I just pop the maps card out and it's all good.
